With the increasing adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in higher education and examination systems, there is a growing need for secure, transparent, efficient, and technology-enabled assessment mechanisms. In line with the University’s commitment to academic excellence and digital transformation, the Computer Centre has established the Computer Based Testing (CBT) & OMR Scanning Centre to provide comprehensive examination support services based on modern technologies and best practices.

The primary objective of the Centre is to facilitate the conduct of Computer Based Tests (CBT) and provide high-quality OMR scanning, evaluation, and result-processing services for Himachal Pradesh University and other academic institutions, government departments, public sector undertakings, autonomous bodies, recruitment agencies, and professional organizations. The Centre is equipped with modern computing infrastructure, high-speed networking, advanced OMR scanning systems, secure examination software, and dedicated technical support to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, fairness, and timely processing of examinations.

Our endeavour is to provide reliable, cost-effective, and technology driven examination solutions that uphold the principles of transparency, integrity, and efficiency. Computer Based Testing (CBT) & OMR Scanning Centre Welcome to the Computer Based Testing (CBT) & OMR Scanning Centre The Computer Based Testing (CBT) & OMR Scanning Centre, established under the Computer Centre, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, is a dedicated facility for providing secure, efficient, and technology-driven examination and assessment services. The Centre has been created to strengthen the University’s digital examination ecosystem and to facilitate the conduct of computer-based and OMR-based examinations for the University as well as for government departments, public sector undertakings, autonomous bodies, educational institutions, and other organizations.

As a constituent facility of the Computer Centre, the Centre offers comprehensive solutions for planning and conducting Computer Based Tests (CBT), online assessments, entrance examinations, recruitment examinations, certification tests, and other objective assessments. The Centre is equipped with modern computing infrastructure, high-speed network connectivity, dedicated examination servers, secure examination software, uninterrupted power backup, CCTV surveillance, and experienced technical personnel to ensure the fair, transparent, and seamless conduct of examinations.

The Centre also provides high-speed OMR sheet scanning, evaluation, and result-processing services using advanced OMR scanning systems and industry-standard software.
