The Department of Defence and Strategic Studies was established in the year 2020 as an academic initiative of Himachal Pradesh University to promote the systematic study of national and international security issues, defence strategies, and strategic affairs. Rooted in an interdisciplinary approach, the department integrates elements of political science, international relations, military history, and strategic theory to offer a holistic understanding of contemporary security challenges.
